Fried Mashed Potato Cakes
INGREDIENTS:
For the mashed potatoes:
- five hundred g potatoes
- two cloves garlic
- eleven cl of milk
- two tbsp fresh cream
- twenty five g butter
- salt
- pepper
For the cake:
- fifty g flour
- one tsp onion powder
- four tbsp melted butter
- one egg
- a quarter tsp salt
PREPARATION:
How to make mashed potatoes easily:
First peel your potatoes, cut them into cubes, rinse them to release a little starch and mince the garlic cloves.
Then put them in a saucepan, add the garlic on top, pour the water on top to cover everything, and add a small pinch of salt.
Cover the saucepan, bring to the boil then leave to cook for twenty minutes, while cooking, warm the milk in another saucepan.
At the end of cooking, drain your potatoes, put them in a bowl, add milk, cream, butter, a pinch of pepper and mash everything with a fork.
Preparation of the cake:
Mix the flour with onion powder, salt in a bowl, add the melted butter, mashed potatoes and beaten egg on top and mix everything.
Roll out your potato dough on a floured work surface to form a disc two cm thick.
Use a cookie cutter to shape your potato pancakes.
Melt one tsp of butter in a frying pan then cook your patties over medium-low heat until the bottoms are golden brown.
Flip them over and cook the other side until both sides are golden brown.
Finally here is your potato cake, serve and good appetite to all.
