Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the shredded cheese.
  3. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, beaten egg, and vegetable oil.
  4. Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix to ensure a light, fluffy bread.
  5. Prepare for Baking: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool: Allow the bread to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tips for Extra Flavor:

  • For an extra cheesy flavor, sprinkle additional shredded cheese on top of the batter before baking.
  • Customize your bread by adding chopped fresh herbs, cubed ham, or chopped jalapeños to the batter.
  • This bread is best enjoyed warm, but it can be stored at room temperature for up to three days or refrigerated for up to a week.

Enjoy your homemade cheesy quick bread as a snack, a side dish, or even for breakfast!
