- 2 cups of bread flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1/2 cup of cold, unsalted butter, cut into chunks
- 1 cup of buttermilk
- 12 small mozzarella cheese pieces
- 1/4 cup of melted butter
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon of fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.
- Incorporate Butter: Add the cold, cut-up butter to the dry mix. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to combine until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add Buttermilk: Pour in the buttermilk and mix until a dough forms.
- Form the Dough: Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead it a few times. Shape the dough into a square about 1/2 inch thick.
- Divide and Fill: Cut the dough into 12 equal pieces. Place a piece of mozzarella cheese in the center of each square. Wrap the dough around the cheese, pinching the edges to seal.
- Prepare for Baking: Place the biscuit bombs seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake: Brush the tops with melted butter mixed with garlic powder. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes until golden brown and the cheese is melted and gooey.
- Finish and Serve: Once out of the oven, brush with the remaining melted butter and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve warm and enjoy!
