Large skillet or wok

Wooden spoon or spatula

Knife and cutting board

Mixing bowl (for sauce)

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 6 cups green cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced (optional)
  • ¼ cup soy sauce (low-sodium if preferred)
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce (optional)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (for finishing)
  • Green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1️⃣ Heat olive or sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

2️⃣ Add ground beef, cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess grease.

3️⃣ Add minced ginger and garlic. Stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

4️⃣ Add onion and bell pepper (if using). Stir-fry 2-3 minutes until softened.

5️⃣ Add cabbage. Stir-fry 5-7 minutes until wilted and tender-crisp.

6️⃣ In a small bowl, whisk soy sauce, rice vinegar, hoisin (if using). Pour over stir-fry and toss to coat. Cook 2-3 more minutes.

7️⃣ Remove from heat. Drizzle with sesame oil. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
