Ingredients

  • 1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Equipment

  • 8x8-inch metal roasting pan or similar oven-safe dish

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Lightly grease an 8x8-inch metal pan.
  2. Pour the sweetened condensed milk directly into the pan.
  3. Whisk eggs and vanilla (or cinnamon) until smooth. Pour over the condensed milk and gently swirl.
  4. Bake 30–35 minutes until edges are set and golden and the center still has a gentle wobble.
  5. Cool in the pan at least 20–30 minutes before scooping or slicing.

Notes

Metal pan gives the best caramelization. Pull while the center still wobbles for the ideal soft texture. Excellent warm or chilled. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for 3–4 days. Cinnamon makes a wonderful alternative to vanilla.
