Apple Cinnamon Cake

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg optional
  • ½ cup butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sour cream or yogurt
  • 2 medium apples peeled & diced
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts/pecans optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch pan.
  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Cream butter with sugars. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in sour cream.
  4. Fold dry ingredients into wet until just combined.
  5. Fold in apples and nuts. Spread into pan.
  6. Bake 35–40 minutes (sheet pan) or 45–50 minutes (bundt pan).
  7. Cool slightly, then serve with glaze, powdered sugar, or caramel drizzle.

Notes

For crunch, top with cinnamon sugar before baking.
Best served warm with ice cream or coffee.
Freezer-friendly up to 3 months.
