Baked French Dip Biscuits: The Ultimate Comfort Food Sandwich

Ingredients
  

  • * 1 can 16.3 oz refrigerated biscuit dough
  • * 8 slices deli roast beef
  • * 8 slices provolone cheese
  • * ¼ cup melted butter
  • * 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • * 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • * 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • * ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • * ½ teaspoon dried rosemary
  • * ½ teaspoon salt
  • * ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • * 1 cup beef broth for dipping

Equipment

  • Baking dish (greased)
  • Small mixing bowl
  • pastry brush
  • Saucepan for warming broth

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Separate biscuit dough into 8 pieces and flatten.
  2. Place roast beef and provolone on each dough disc.
  3. Fold edges over filling, pinch to seal, shape into balls. Place seam-side down in greased dish.
  4. Mix melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
  5. Brush butter mixture over biscuits. Bake 20–25 minutes until golden.
  6. Warm beef broth in saucepan.
  7. Serve biscuits warm with au jus for dipping.

Notes

Add jalapeño slices for a spicy kick.
* Substitute cheese with Swiss or cheddar.
* Vegetarian option: sautéed mushrooms and onions.
* Make ahead by assembling and refrigerating.
