- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment.
- Whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy, 2–3 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
- Mix in dry ingredients on low just until combined.
- Color dough if desired.
- Scoop onto baking sheets, leaving space.
- Bake 8–10 minutes, until edges are set but centers look soft.
- Cool, decorate, and enjoy.
