Ingredients
  

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: food coloring sprinkles, icing

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment.
  2. Whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy, 2–3 minutes.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
  5. Mix in dry ingredients on low just until combined.
  6. Color dough if desired.
  7. Scoop onto baking sheets, leaving space.
  8. Bake 8–10 minutes, until edges are set but centers look soft.
  9. Cool, decorate, and enjoy.
