Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce

A warm, nostalgic dessert with soft bread pudding and creamy vanilla sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 –6 slices bread cubed
  • ½ cup raisins
  • 2 cups milk
  • ¼ cup butter melted
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ tsp cinnamon optional
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg optional
  • ½ cup sugar sauce
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch sauce
  • ¼ tsp salt sauce
  • 2 cups milk sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter sauce
  • 1 tsp vanilla sauce

Equipment

  • 8x8 inch baking dish
  • mixing bowls
  • whisk
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Medium saucepan

Method
 

  1. rease baking dish. Combine bread, raisins, spices. Mix milk, butter, sugar, eggs; pour over bread. Rest 10 mins.
  2. Bake 40–45 mins at 350°F.
  3. Make sauce: whisk sugar, cornstarch, salt. Add milk. Cook until thick. Stir in butter, vanilla.
  4. Serve pudding warm with sauce.

Notes

Try other dried fruits.
Delicious warm or cold.
