A buttery, moist pound cake with a candied crust that’s simply irresistible.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup powdered sugar

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • 10-inch tube pan or 12-cup bundt pan
  • Sifter or fine mesh strainer
  • Wire cooling rack

Method
 

  1. Cream butter + sugar. Beat in eggs + vanilla.
  2. Alternate adding flour mix + buttermilk. Don’t overmix.
  3. Pour into pan, bake 60-75 mins.
  4. While warm, dust with powdered sugar.
  5. Cool, slice, enjoy!

Notes

Delicious with fruit or ice cream.
Add citrus zest or extract for variation.
