Ingredients

  • 6 slices Texas toast or other thick-sliced bread
  • 4 tablespoons butter melted
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley optional garnish

Equipment

  • Air fryer or baking sheet, small bowl, spatula

Method

  1. Arrange bread slices in a single layer in an air fryer basket or on a baking sheet.
  2. In a small bowl, mix melted butter with Parmesan, garlic powder, and oregano.
  3. Spread the butter mixture evenly over each slice, all the way to the edges.
  4. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella and top each slice with one piece of provolone.
  5. Air fry at 350°F for 5 minutes, or bake at 375°F (convection) for 6–7 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Garnish with dried parsley if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

Day-old Texas toast works especially well. Watch closely at the end so the cheese does not over-brown. Best served hot for maximum cheese pull. Leftovers reheat best in the air fryer or oven.
