Tender shaved ribeye steak, sautéed onions and peppers, melted provolone cheese, and toasted hoagie rolls create the ultimate homemade Philly cheesesteak sandwich.

Ingredients
  

  • lbs ribeye steak
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Salt and pepper

Equipment

  • Cast iron skillet
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting board
  • spatula
  • Ingredients
  • 1½ lbs ribeye steak
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Salt and pepper

Method
 

  1. Slice steak thinly.
  2. Cook onions and peppers.
  3. Sear steak over high heat.
  4. Combine vegetables and steak.
  5. Melt provolone over the mixture.
  6. Toast rolls.
  7. Assemble sandwiches and serve.

Notes

Freeze steak briefly for easier slicing.
Ribeye provides the best flavor.
Toast rolls to prevent sogginess.
Add cheese sauce for extra richness.
