  • Biscuit Dough
  • 1 box Cheddar Bay Biscuit Mix
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Water or milk as directed on the package
  • Crab Filling
  • 8 ounces lump crab meat drained and picked over
  • 2 ounces cream cheese softened
  • ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 green onion finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Lemon Garlic Butter
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • Juice of ½ fresh lemon
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • Fresh parsley chopped

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a muffin tin.
  2. Mix together the crab meat, cream cheese, cheddar, green onion, Old Bay seasoning, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  3. Prepare the biscuit mix according to the package directions, adding the garlic powder and Italian seasoning to the dry mix first.
  4. Spoon biscuit dough into each muffin cup and press it up the sides to form a small cup.
  5. Fill each cup with the crab mixture.
  6. Cover with more biscuit dough and gently seal the edges.
  7. Bake for 18–22 minutes, until golden brown.
  8. Whisk together the melted butter, lemon juice, garlic, and parsley.
  9. Brush the warm biscuits generously with the lemon garlic butter before serving.

Notes

Lump crab meat provides the best flavor and texture.
Avoid overmixing the filling to keep the crab pieces intact.
Serve with extra lemon butter or garlic aioli for dipping.
