  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 21-oz can fruit pie filling

  • 9-inch pie plate
  • mixing bowls
  • - Whisk or hand mixer
  • Measuring cups & spoons

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie plate.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Stir in butter, milk, and egg until smooth.
  4. Pour batter into pie plate.
  5. Spoon fruit filling evenly on top (do not stir).
  6. Bake 40–50 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Cool 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Don’t stir the fruit filling into the batter. The crust forms as the batter bakes up around the filling.
Try different flavors. Mix fillings (like cherry + blueberry) for a fun twist.
Make it extra special. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the top before baking.
Serve warm. Pair with vanilla ice cream for the ultimate quick family dessert.
