Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 6 tbsp butter divided
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • 1½ cups heavy cream
  • 1½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese plus extra for topping
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning optional
  • Fresh cracked black pepper for garnish

Equipment

  • Large skillet, pot for pasta

Method

  1. Cook spaghetti until al dente; drain.
  2. Brown ground beef in a large skillet; season, drain, and set aside.
  3. Melt 4 tbsp butter in the same skillet. Cook garlic until soft and fragrant.
  4. Add heavy cream and simmer 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Stir in cheddar a handful at a time until smooth.
  6. Return beef to the skillet and coat in the sauce.
  7. Toss pasta with remaining 2 tbsp butter, then add to the skillet and mix well.
  8. Serve topped with extra cheddar and cracked black pepper.

Notes

Cook garlic gently so it doesn’t brown. Add cheese over low heat for a smooth sauce. Freshly shredded cheddar melts best. Adjust garlic to taste.
