Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 4 large flour tortillas burrito size
  • 4 tostada shells
  • 1 cup nacho cheese sauce warmed
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter for griddling

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • spatula
  • Cutting board & knife

Method

  1. Brown ground beef, drain fat, and stir in taco seasoning with a splash of water. Simmer until thickened.
  2. Warm large tortillas slightly. On each tortilla, layer seasoned beef, drizzle nacho cheese, top with tostada shell, spread sour cream, then add lettuce, tomatoes, and cheddar.
  3. Fold edges of the tortilla up and over the filling to seal.
  4. Cook seam-side down in a buttered skillet for ~3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  5. Slice in half and serve immediately.

Notes

Make ahead: Prepare beef mixture up to 3 days in advance.
Customizations: Add jalapeños, avocado, or refried beans. Use ground turkey for a lighter option.
Storage: Best enjoyed fresh. Reheat leftovers in a skillet to restore crispiness.
Perfect for busy weeknights, family dinners, and satisfying comfort food cravings.
