Easy layered dessert bars made with a buttery graham cracker crust, sweetened condensed milk, shredded coconut, chocolate chips, nuts, and caramel bits. Gooey, chewy, crisp-edged, and perfect for potlucks or holidays.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 can 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 1/2 cup caramel bits or extra chocolate chips

  • Parchment paper

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a 9x13-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix graham cracker crumbs with melted butter until the mixture looks like wet sand.
  3. Press firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  4. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over the crust.
  5. Sprinkle coconut over the top.
  6. Scatter chocolate chips, chopped nuts, and caramel bits evenly over everything.
  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the edges are deeply golden and the top looks toasted and bubbly.
  8. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

Use sweetened condensed milk, not evaporated milk.
Press the crust firmly so the bars hold together.
Cool completely before slicing.
Store in an airtight container for best texture.
