Ingredients

  • 2 sticks 1 cup salted butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • cups chopped pecans
  • 1 sleeve graham crackers enough to cover a baking sheet in a single layer

Equipment

  • Rimmed baking sheet, parchment paper, medium saucepan

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Arrange graham crackers in a single layer on the parchment, breaking as needed to fit.
  3. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar together, stirring constantly until smooth and bubbling at the edges.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.
  5. Pour the caramel evenly over the graham crackers and spread gently if needed.
  6. Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the top and press lightly.
  7. Bake for 10 minutes until the edges are bubbling and the pecans are fragrant.
  8. Cool completely on the baking sheet, then break into pieces.

Notes

Stir the caramel constantly to prevent scorching. Cool fully before breaking for the best texture. Store in an airtight container. Optional chocolate drizzle can be added after cooling. Perfect for holidays, gifting, or anytime pecan-pie craving hits.
