French Onion Butter Rice

Easy oven-baked rice infused with savory French onion soup, beef consommé, and melted butter. A comforting side dish everyone loves.

Equipment

  • Medium-sized oven-safe casserole dish (8x8 or 9x9 inch)
  • Aluminum foil
  • measuring cups
  • Fork for fluffing

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup long-grain white rice uncooked
  • 1 10.5 oz can French onion soup
  • 1 10.5 oz can beef consommé
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In an oven-safe dish, combine rice, French onion soup, beef consommé, melted butter, and garlic powder. Stir to combine.
  • Cover tightly with foil and bake for 30–35 minutes, until rice is tender and liquid absorbed.
  • Let rest for 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork and serve hot.

Notes

Store leftovers refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Add mushrooms, caramelized onions, or shredded cheese for extra flavor.
