French Onion Butter Rice

Easy oven-baked rice infused with savory French onion soup, beef consommé, and melted butter. A comforting side dish everyone loves.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup long-grain white rice uncooked
  • 1 10.5 oz can French onion soup
  • 1 10.5 oz can beef consommé
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder optional

Equipment

  • Medium-sized oven-safe casserole dish (8x8 or 9x9 inch)
  • Aluminum foil
  • measuring cups
  • Fork for fluffing

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In an oven-safe dish, combine rice, French onion soup, beef consommé, melted butter, and garlic powder. Stir to combine.
  3. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 30–35 minutes, until rice is tender and liquid absorbed.
  4. Let rest for 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork and serve hot.

Notes

Store leftovers refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Add mushrooms, caramelized onions, or shredded cheese for extra flavor.
