Fresh Apple Cake

A classic homemade apple Bundt cake packed with fresh apples, warm cinnamon, and nutmeg. Moist, flavorful, and perfect for fall baking, holidays, and family gatherings.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 3 large eggs
  • cups vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups peeled and chopped apples
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts optional

Equipment

  • 10-inch Bundt pan
  • mixing bowls
  • whisk
  • Rubber spatula
  • cooling rack
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. Grease and flour a Bundt pan.
  3. Whisk together flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. In another bowl, whisk eggs, oil, and vanilla.
  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients.
  6. Fold in apples and nuts.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  8. Bake for 75 minutes.
  9. Cool in pan for 15 minutes.
  10. Invert onto serving plate.
  11. Slice and serve.

Notes

Use Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples for best results.
Do not overmix the batter.
Toast nuts for extra flavor.
Excellent served with coffee, tea, whipped cream, or vanilla ice cream.
