  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • Juice of ½ fresh lemon
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Optional Garnishes
  • Fresh parsley chopped
  • Lemon wedges
  • Crushed red pepper flakes
  • Grated Parmesan cheese if serving with pasta

  • Large skillet or cast iron skillet
  • Small mixing bowl
  • Measuring spoons

  • Wooden spoon or silicone spatula

  • Citrus juicer (optional)

Method
 

  1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, lemon juice, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and melt half of the butter mixture.
  4. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Flip the shrimp, add the remaining garlic butter, and cook for another 2 minutes until pink and opaque.
  6. Remove from the heat immediately.
  7. Spoon the garlic butter sauce over the shrimp.
  8. Garnish with parsley and serve over pasta, rice, or with warm crusty bread.

Notes

Use large shrimp for the best texture.
Fresh garlic provides the richest flavor.
Do not overcook the shrimp—they only need about 4 minutes total.
Delicious with linguine, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables.
Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
