German Chocolate Poke Cake

German Chocolate Poke CakeA decadent poke cake packed with caramel, coconut, and pecans.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix + box ingredients
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup caramel sauce divided
  • 1 cup toasted pecans
  • 1 cup toasted coconut
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Equipment

  • 9×13-inch baking pan
  • mixing bowls
  • Hand or stand mixer
  • Wooden spoon or skewer (for poking holes)
  • spatula

Method
 

  1. Bake cake per box instructions. Cool 5 min, poke holes.
  2. Pour condensed milk + 1/2 cup caramel over cake. Cool fully.
  3. Beat butter + sugar. Add milk, vanilla, remaining caramel, pecans, coconut.
  4. Frost cake. Chill 1 hr. Enjoy!

Notes

Great make-ahead dessert.
Customize with extra toppings like chocolate chips or more caramel drizzle.
