Grandma's 7-Up Biscuits

Soft, buttery 7-Up Biscuits made with baking mix, sour cream, and lemon-lime soda for incredibly tall, fluffy biscuits baked in melted butter until perfectly golden.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup 1 stick salted butter, melted
  • 4 1/2 cups Bisquick or similar baking mix
  • 1 cup lemon-lime soda 7-Up or Sprite
  • 1 cup full-fat sour cream

Equipment

  • 9×13-inch baking dish
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Rubber spatula
  • measuring cups

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  2. Pour the melted butter into a 9x13-inch baking dish and coat the bottom evenly.
  3. In a large bowl, stir together the Bisquick, lemon-lime soda, and sour cream until just combined.
  4. Spoon the dough evenly over the melted butter.
  5. Bake for 25–30 minutes until the tops are deep golden brown.
  6. Cool for 1–2 minutes.
  7. Cut into squares and serve warm with butter, honey, or jam.

Notes

Don't overmix the dough.
Full-fat sour cream gives the best texture.
These biscuits are best served warm.
Leftovers reheat beautifully.
