- Boil potatoes in salted water until fork-tender, about 15 minutes. Drain, then mash with butter and milk. Season with salt and pepper. Keep warm.
- Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook until softened. Stir in garlic for 30 seconds.
- Sprinkle flour over the beef and cook 1 minute. Gradually stir in beef broth until thickened.
- Add Worcestershire, salt, pepper, and onion powder. Simmer 3–4 minutes until the gravy coats a spoon.
- Serve the beef gravy ladled generously over the creamy mashed potatoes.
Notes
Keep potatoes warm while making the gravy. Adjust gravy thickness with extra broth if needed. Excellent with corn or green vegetables on the side. Classic comfort food that invites seconds.
