Homemade Soft Dinner Rolls

Fluffy, buttery homemade dinner rolls made from scratch with milk, yeast, and simple pantry ingredients. Perfect for Sunday dinner, Thanksgiving, and holiday meals.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 packet yeast
  • cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • cups flour

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups & spoons
  • Clean kitchen towel
  • 9-inch round pan or cast iron skillet
  • Oven

Method
 

  1. Activate yeast in warm milk and sugar.
  2. Add butter, egg, salt.
  3. Mix in flour to form dough.
  4. Knead 5 minutes.
  5. Rise 1 hour.
  6. Shape into 12 rolls.
  7. Rise 30 minutes.
  8. Bake 18–22 minutes at 375°F.
  9. Brush with butter.
