Jarlsberg Cheese Dip: The Ultimate Crowd-Pleasing Appetizer! 🧀

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups shredded Jarlsberg cheese or Swiss/Gruyère
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup grated onion or 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped (or 1 tsp dried)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper optional

Equipment

  • mixing bowl
  • Grater (if shredding cheese and onion fresh)
  • 1-quart baking dish or pie plate
  • Oven or crockpot

Method
 

  1. Combine cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, onion, lemon juice, parsley, garlic powder, black pepper, and cayenne in a bowl. Mix well.
  2. Transfer mixture to greased 1-quart baking dish. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  3. (Optional) Broil 1–2 minutes for a toasted top.
  4. Serve warm with bread, crackers, or veggies.

Notes

Substitute Swiss or Gruyère for Jarlsberg if needed.
Add jalapeño or smoked paprika for spice.
Can be prepared ahead and refrigerated before baking.
Slow cooker method: heat on low 1–2 hours, stirring occasionally.
