A rich, velvety gravy that tastes just like the classic — perfect for potatoes, chicken, and biscuits.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth low sodium
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • tsp dried sage optional
  • Pinch smoked paprika
  • Salt to taste

Method
 

  1. Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add flour and whisk 1–2 minutes until golden and smooth.
  3. Slowly whisk in chicken broth, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
  4. Add seasonings and simmer 5–7 minutes, until thickened.
  5. Taste, adjust salt, and serve hot.

Notes

Stir constantly for the smoothest texture.
Add a splash of cream for extra richness.
Keeps in fridge up to 3 days or freezes for 1 month.
