Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment.
- Cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Mix in maple syrup, egg, and vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Slowly mix dry ingredients into wet until combined.
- Drop tablespoons of dough onto baking sheets. Bake 9–11 minutes.
- Cool on wire rack before icing.
Maple Icing:
- Melt butter and mix with maple syrup. Bring to boil and remove from heat.
- Whisk in powdered sugar and maple extract until smooth.
- Drizzle or dip cookies once cooled. Let icing set before serving.
