Microwave Sweet Potato

A fast, wholesome comfort food made in under 10 minutes. Perfectly tender microwave sweet potato with endless topping options for sweet or savory meals.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 medium sweet potato 8–10 oz
  • 1 –2 tsp olive oil or butter optional
  • ¼ tsp salt to taste
  • ¼ tsp black pepper optional

Equipment

  • Fork
  • Microwave-safe plate

Method
 

  1. Wash and dry the sweet potato.
  2. Pierce all over with a fork (4–6 holes).
  3. Microwave on HIGH for 5 minutes.
  4. Flip carefully; microwave 2–4 minutes more until fork-tender.
  5. Rest 1 minute, slice open, and fluff.
  6. Add oil or butter, season, and top as desired.

Notes

Medium-sized potatoes cook most evenly
Always pierce the skin to prevent bursting
Let rest before cutting for best texture
Best enjoyed fresh; refrigeration up to 4 days
