Momma’s Easy No-Yeast Dinner Rolls

Soft, buttery rolls made without yeast — quick, tender, and perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup cold unsalted butter diced
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 2 tbsp melted butter for brushing

Equipment

  • mixing bowls
  • pastry cutter,
  • whisk, baking pan,
  • pastry brush

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease baking pan.
  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  4. Add milk gradually; mix until dough forms.
  5. Knead lightly 6–8 times; divide into 12 balls.
  6. Arrange in pan and bake 15–20 minutes until golden.
  7. Brush with melted butter and serve warm.

Notes

Keep butter very cold for the fluffiest texture.
Buttermilk works beautifully for extra-soft rolls.
Don’t over-knead — stop as soon as the dough comes together.
Rolls touching each other bake softer; spaced rolls bake crisper.
