Ingredients
  

  • 1 box cake mix yellow, chocolate, or butter pecan
  • 1 stick ½ cup butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup chopped nuts pecans or walnuts, optional
  • 1 8 oz package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 16 oz box powdered sugar
  • 1 large egg

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together cake mix, melted butter, and 2 eggs until combined. Fold in nuts if using.
  3. Spread batter evenly into the pan.
  4. In another bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and 1 egg until smooth. Pour over cake batter.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes until golden brown. Let cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • Serve with powdered sugar, whipped cream, or fresh berries.
  • Store in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for 3 months.
