Ingredients

  • 2 lbs stew meat
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 packet brown gravy mix
  • 1 envelope beefy onion soup mix
  • 1 can water

Equipment

  • 13×9-inch baking pan, aluminum foil

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F.
  2. Place stew meat in a 13×9-inch pan. Add cream of mushroom soup, brown gravy mix, beefy onion soup mix, and 1 can of water. Stir to combine.
  3. Cover tightly with foil. Bake for 3 hours without peeking.
  4. Remove foil carefully, stir gently, and serve over mashed potatoes or noodles.

Notes

Do not open the foil during baking—trapped steam is key to tenderness. Excellent with mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or rice. Leftovers reheat well and freeze nicely. One of the easiest comfort-food dinners you will ever make.
