Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl, muffin tin

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and generously grease a muffin tin.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add milk and mayonnaise; stir gently until just combined (a few lumps are fine).
  4. Spoon batter into muffin cups, filling each about halfway (about 5 rolls).
  5. Bake 15 minutes until tops are golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool 1–2 minutes, then serve warm with butter.

Notes

Do not overmix. Full-fat mayonnaise gives the best texture. Grease the tin well. Best served warm. Easily doubled. The mayonnaise is the secret to soft, rich rolls without extra butter or oil in the batter. Perfect for busy nights or last-minute bread.
