Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
  4. Beat in egg and vanilla.
  5. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt together.
  6. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until combined.
  7. Roll dough into 1-inch balls.
  8. Place on baking sheets and flatten slightly.
  9. Bake for 10–12 minutes.
  10. Cool for 5 minutes on baking sheet.
  11. Transfer to a cooling rack.

Notes

For extra flavor, sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top before baking.
Avoid overbaking to maintain a soft texture.
Excellent make-ahead cookie dough.
