One-Pan Honey BBQ Chicken & Rice

An easy one-pan dinner featuring juicy chicken, fluffy rice, and a sticky honey BBQ glaze. Ready in under 40 minutes, this family-friendly comfort food is perfect for busy weeknights and meal prep.

Ingredients
  

Chicken
  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
Rice
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • Honey BBQ Sauce
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
Garnish
  • Sesame seeds

Equipment

  • Large skillet with lid

Method
 

  1. Brown the chicken and set aside.
  2. Sauté garlic and toast the rice.
  3. Add chicken broth and cook until rice is tender.
  4. Mix BBQ sauce, honey, and soy sauce.
  5. Stir half into the rice.
  6. Return chicken and drizzle remaining sauce over the top.
  7. Cook for 2–3 minutes and garnish before serving.

Notes

Chicken thighs provide the juiciest texture.
Allow the rice to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Great for meal prep.
Refrigerate up to 4 days or freeze up to 2 months.
Delicious with roasted vegetables or a crisp salad.
