- Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add diced potatoes and cook 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and tender with crispy edges.
- Push potatoes to one side. Add ground beef to the other side and break it up as it cooks.
- Once beef starts browning, add diced onion and garlic. Stir everything together and cook until beef is fully browned and onion is soft.
- Season with paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
- Lower heat slightly. Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the top. Cover and cook 2–3 minutes until cheese melts.
- Remove from heat, garnish with parsley if desired, and serve straight from the skillet.
Notes
Use a large skillet so potatoes and beef can brown properly. Freshly grated cheese melts best. Excellent with a simple green salad.
