Course: Dessert
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • ½ cup fresh orange zest from 4–5 oranges
  • ¼ cup fresh orange juice
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar plus extra for rolling
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Equipment

  • Microwave-safe bowl, mixing bowl, parchment paper

Method

  1. Melt white chocolate in 20-second bursts until smooth.
  2. Stir in orange zest, orange juice, and vanilla.
  3. Mix in softened cream cheese until silky.
  4. Fold in 1 cup powdered sugar until thickened.
  5. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours until firm.
  6. Roll tablespoon-sized portions into balls, then coat generously in powdered sugar.
  7. Chill another 30 minutes before serving. Store in the refrigerator.

Notes

Fresh orange zest is essential for bright flavor. Work quickly when rolling because the mixture softens at room temperature. Keep finished truffles refrigerated. They taste even better the next day.
