Praline Crunch – The Ultimate Sweet & Buttery Snack

Ingredients
  

  • - 8 cups Crispix cereal or Chex cereal
  • - 2 cups pecan halves
  • - ½ cup 1 stick unsalted butter
  • - 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • - ¼ cup light corn syrup
  • - ¼ teaspoon salt
  • - ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • - ½ teaspoon baking soda

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Medium saucepan
  • Wooden spoon or silicone spatula
  • Measuring cups & spoons
  • - Rimmed baking sheet
  • Parchment paper or silicone mat

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix Crispix cereal and pecan halves.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt.
  4. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Let it boil for 3 minutes without stirring.
  5. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and baking soda (it will bubble).
  6. Pour mixture over cereal and pecans. Stir until coated.
  7. Spread evenly on the baking sheet. Bake 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool completely. Break into pieces and store airtight.

Notes

- Try drizzling with melted chocolate for extra indulgence.
- Swap pecans for almonds or walnuts if preferred.
