Slow Cooker Cracker Barrel Fried Apples

Tender apples in a sweet, buttery cinnamon glaze — made effortlessly in your slow cooker. A copycat of Cracker Barrel’s famous fried apples!

Ingredients
  

  • 6 large Granny Smith apples peeled, cored, and sliced
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • Knife & cutting board

Method
 

  1. Place apples in the slow cooker.
  2. Mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg; sprinkle over apples.
  3. Drizzle melted butter and water over apples; stir gently.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 3 hours until tender.
  5. Whisk cornstarch and lemon juice; stir into apples.
  6. Cook on HIGH 10–15 minutes until sauce thickens.
  7. Serve warm as a dessert, side, or topping.

Notes

Best apples: Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji.
Store leftovers in fridge up to 4 days.
Freeze up to 3 months; reheat gently on stovetop.
