Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 can 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Equipment

  • Slow cooker, jars for storage

Method

  1. Add butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, and sweetened condensed milk to the slow cooker. Stir gently.
  2. Cover and cook on low for 3–4 hours, stirring every 30 minutes.
  3. Stir in heavy cream and vanilla. Cook 15–20 minutes more until the sauce coats the back of a spoon.
  4. Cool slightly, then transfer to jars. Sauce thickens as it cools.

Notes

Use real butter. Keep on low and stir periodically. Sauce thickens significantly when cool. Store in the refrigerator up to 2–3 weeks. Warm gently before using if needed.
