Sticky Brown Sugar Glazed Meatballs

Ingredients
  

  • Meatballs
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper
  • Glaze
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water

Equipment

  • mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Large skillet
  • measuring cups
  • spatula

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Mix meatball ingredients until combined.
  3. Roll into balls and bake 18–20 minutes.
  4. Simmer glaze ingredients in a skillet.
  5. Stir in cornstarch slurry until thickened.
  6. Toss baked meatballs in glaze.
  7. Cook 5 minutes until sticky and caramelized.
  8. Serve warm.

Notes

Excellent for freezer meal prep.
Delicious served over rice or noodles.
Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
