Sticky Oven-Baked Honey BBQ Chicken Drumsticks

Juicy drumsticks baked in the oven, glazed with sweet and smoky honey BBQ sauce—a family favorite!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 –3 lbs chicken drumsticks 12–16 pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Honey BBQ Glaze:
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce optional

Equipment

  • Baking tray or sheet pan
  • Aluminum foil or parchment paper
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Small saucepan
  • Kitchen brush or spoon

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line and lightly grease a baking tray.
  2. In a bowl, toss drumsticks with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Arrange evenly on tray.
  3. Bake drumsticks 30 minutes, flipping halfway.
  4. Meanwhile, simmer barbecue sauce, honey, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce until thickened (5–7 min).
  5. Brush drumsticks generously with glaze. Bake additional 10–15 min until caramelized and cooked through (165°F internal). Broil briefly if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers refrigerated up to 4 days; reheat in oven or air fryer for best texture.
Adjust hot sauce for desired spice level.
