- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment.
- Melt butter, whisk in sugars. Add egg + vanilla, whisk smooth.
- Fold in flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until just combined.
- Stir in mix-ins.
- Scoop dough balls onto sheets, leaving 2" space.
- Bake 9–11 minutes until edges are golden and centers soft.
- Cool 5 minutes on sheet; transfer to rack.
Notes
Under-bake slightly for perfect chewiness.
Add a pinch of flaky salt for a bakery finish.
Dough can be frozen into balls and baked later.
