Ingredients
  

  • - 1 10.5 oz can French onion soup, divided
  • - 1½ lbs ground beef 80/20
  • - ½ cup dry breadcrumbs
  • - 1 egg
  • - ¼ tsp salt
  • - ⅛ tsp black pepper
  • - 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • - 1 tbsp butter
  • - 2 cups beef broth
  • - 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, pepper, and ¼ cup onion soup. Form into 4–6 oval patties.
  2. Brown patties in butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Remove and set aside.
  3. Lower heat to medium. Sprinkle in flour and whisk for 1 minute.
  4. Slowly add remaining soup and broth, scraping up browned bits. Add Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Return patties to the skillet. Cover and simmer 15–20 minutes, flipping once.
  6. Serve hot with mashed potatoes or noodles and plenty of gravy.

Notes

- Add mushrooms for more depth.
- Use leaner meat if preferred.
- Makes great leftovers!
