Turmeric and Lemon Detox Drink

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup warm water not boiling
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric or fresh grated
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Optional: 1 tsp honey or splash of apple cider vinegar

Equipment

  • Small saucepan or kettle
  • Mug (glass or ceramic — turmeric can stain plastic!)
  • Spoon for stirring
  • Citrus squeezer (optional)
  • Microplane or grater (if using fresh turmeric)

Method
 

  1. Heat water until warm but not boiling.
  2. In a mug, mix turmeric, lemon juice, and black pepper.
  3. Add honey or apple cider vinegar if using.
  4. Stir well and sip slowly on an empty stomach.
  5. Keep stirring as you drink — turmeric will settle.

Notes
