Strawberry bombs these are irresistible!
INGREDIENTS:
- 300g (2 cups) flour
- 1 egg
- 45g (1/4 cup) sugar
- pinch of salt
- 7g dry yeast
- 140 ml (3/5 cup) hot milk
- 40 g (1/4 cup) softened butter
- For the decoration:
- Whipped cream
- Strawberries, chopped
- Granulated sugar
METHOD:
Step 1: Put the sugar, yeast, and milk in a medium bowl and stir to mix.
Step 2: Mix up the egg. Add the flour and salt, and then use a spatula to work the dough. Then keep kneading with your hands until the dough is stretchy.
Step 3: Add the softened butter and keep kneading the dough until the butter is well mixed in.
Step 4: Shape the dough into a ball, wrap it in a tea towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise for an hour.
Step 5: Cut the dough into eight pieces and roll each piece into a ball. Cover and let sit for half an hour.
Step 6: Make each ball a little flatter, then roll it back into a ball. Cover and let it sit for 30 more minutes.
Step 7: Fry the balls for 2 to 3 minutes on each side in hot oil over low heat.
Step 8: Let it cool for a few minutes, then cut it in half lengthwise like a burger bun.
Step 9: Decorate half of the cake with whipped cream and chopped strawberries, top with icing sugar, and serve.
