Corned Beef Layered Bake Recipe


  • 2 x tins corned beef
  • 1 large white onion, chopped
  • Butter
  • Mushrooms, sliced
  • Potatoes for mash
  • Cheese (e.g., mature cheddar)

Corned Beef Layered Bake Recipe


  1. Mash two tins of corned beef together with a fork and spread them across the bottom of your baking dish.
  2. Chop a large white onion or your desired amount. Soften the onion with butter over low heat. Once cooked, layer it on top of the corned beef without cooling.
  3. In a pan, sauté a whole punnet of sliced mushrooms in butter until they have a lovely color. Add them as the third layer in your baking dish, on top of the onion layer.
  4. Prepare a delicious mash and place it on top of all the layers mentioned above.
  5. Grate some cheese, such as mature cheddar, and sprinkle it on top.
  6. Place the dish in an oven preheated to 180°C for about an hour or until everything is hot through. Since all the ingredients are cooked, the goal is to heat and melt the cheese.
