  • Slow cooker

Ingredients: For the Salisbury Steak Patties:

  • 1 ½ lbs lean ground beef
  • ½ cup bread crumbs
  • ¼ cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

For the Mushroom Gravy:

  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

1️⃣ Make the Patties: In a bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, onion, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, egg, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently and form into oval patties about ½-inch thick.

2️⃣ Optional Browning: In a skillet, brown patties 2-3 minutes per side for extra flavor.

3️⃣ Layer in Slow Cooker: Place sliced onions on the bottom. Add patties on top.

4️⃣ Mix Gravy: In a bowl, whisk together broth, tomato paste, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Pour over patties. Add mushrooms on top.

5️⃣ Cook: Cover and cook on low 4-5 hours or high 2-3 hours until patties are tender.

6️⃣ Thicken Gravy (Optional): Stir in cornstarch slurry during the last 30 minutes if thicker gravy is desired.

  5. Stir in slurry to thicken, if using.
  6. Serve hot with parsley.
