Method
- Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and milk. Stir until the mixture reaches a full rolling boil.
- Boil for exactly 2½ minutes without stirring.
- Remove from heat and stir in the peanut butter until completely smooth and glossy.
- Pour into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Cool at room temperature until firm, about 2 hours.
- Lift out and cut into squares.
Notes
Use a timer for the 2½-minute boil. Standard creamy peanut butter works best. Do not stir during the boil. Let cool completely before cutting. Store airtight. Freezes beautifully. Hide a few pieces—the batch disappears fast.
